Death Toll in China Road Accidents

The Republic of China lost at least 35 of its people in a severe bus crash in northern China this morning, 8th October, 2011.

A strong collision with a car caused the coach carrying 55 college students to topple over near Beijing. The bus was returning after a seven-day long holiday that was celebrated all over China.

This is not the end to the road accidents reports, for there have been reports of two other major road accidents throughout the one-week holiday. Foggy weather and reduced visibility resulted in a major road accident that killed 10 people and injured 19 others in a vehicle pile-up in the eastern Anhui province.

Official reports and figures say that at least 65,000 people were killed last year while more than 250,000 were injured due to road accidents. This takes place mainly due to the foggy and low-visibility climate and sometimes also due to the heavy rains that some parts of China are famous for.
